yeap, it's end of december, which marks the end of the year. there has been a lack of update cause things have been happening.

the past few weeks were rather bad. the whole december was just filled with 'a series of unfortunate events'.

first of all, was pretty much distracted during the exam period and my last paper didn't go so well (yeah, it showed in the results that just came out yesterday, could've been better)..

then i had only 2 days to pack up my whole room. cleared one whole freaking room into 10 boxes and 3 luggage. thanks alvin for keeping 2 boxes containing a whole pile of notes + textbooks, daniel for letting me store 6 boxes in his house, kaijia who kept my stuffs in her shoe cabinet, cindy for keeping random iterms and peklyn and xianjin who brought 1 box and 2 luggage back from singapore to kl. sorry for all the trouble.. and really grateful for those 'storage' space for 6 months till i come back fr swiss.

farewell pictures taken in the midst of packing..

and then, i had to lose my handphone, wallet and camera during mentoring. it was rather disappointing. first of all, i've been mentoring in that children's home for the past 2.5 yrs. it was kinda sad that i had to lose my belongings during my last session. it was a very sad sad 'farewell' gift. it was probably my fault to be leaving my things unattended on the table. but i was just less than 2 metres away fr that table. and it was even more disappointing to know that it would probably be one of the kids that has been with us for the past 2.5 yrs. the past 2.5 years' effort was probably not enough to impart values on honesty and trust within the group. secondly, it all happened on my last day in singapore before i go home and go off for exchange. i was supposed to be on a 7am flight to medan for a community service trip. and wasn't suppose to go back to singapore unless necessary. i had to cancel the trip. cause i didn't have my IDs, and it was just hard to leave feeling so 'handicapped' and lost.

a lot of thanks to those who were there to help. i must have caused a lot of inconvenience. ppl had to help me get my room door open, to lend me cash, to lend me their handphones & ez-link, to have been troubled by my mum, dad and sis who were trying to get in contact with me, to tell me wat to do, and for the company. i really felt handicapped. with only ringgit and rupiah and no singapore dollars in hand, with no handphone to make calls and to receive calls, and as good as having no shelter cause all i was left was a luggage that I was suppose to bring to medan (my whole room was empty).

the empty room with only a suitcase left..

thankfully i had good friends and i had a sleeping bag to sleep in instead of a bed without sheets and pillow (it was mingli's. she was supposed to collect it later that day but she got it the day after). i made a police report and cancelled my atm card. and it was pretty amazing. the police said they would investigate on the matter. they would go to the home and to interview the kids who were involved one-by-one. and if anyone were to be found guilty, the kid would be charged; irregardless of age. i didn't really want that to happen. i made the police report cause i had too, my IDs were gone.

the moment i stepped out of the police station, i got a call from the home. saying that they had found my items. i went back to retrieve it. they were found in the girl's toilet. with the handphone in the toilet flush (yep, it's totally spoilt but it's under repair) and the wallet and camera in the sanitary bin. i'm glad that i got my things back. i have spare phones to live with till i get my phone fixed. i'm glad that the whole case was closed. made a closing statement at the police station. it would not be nice if the whole thing was settled by the police. the outcome would be rather ugly. the police even demanded for me to bring those items back to the police station for fingerprint test.

the soaked phone

few hours after everything, i went to buy my ticket back home. it was really good to be home. i've never felt so grateful to be back home. home is really the best place to be at. reached home at 4am. mark the end of the most exciting week of my life. well, like wat kj said, it would be something to think back and laugh at in future (and it's kinda that feeling right now.. but the feeling of losing a phone, camera and wallet at the same time wasn't really nice; trust me, i don't think you wanna experience it..)

and for the past week that i've been home, seems like the series of unfortunate events continues. my spare phone decided to die on me too! am using my sister's spare phone now. (sigh!) and last week, my modem at home failed too! (yet again, quite handicapped without internet. i had my modules, timetable, exchange bursary to settle somemore. had to go scout for 'free wifi' areas to use internet. starbucks are always the best places in times like these. modem is fixed by bro! yay-ness!)

on tuesday, was supposed to go genting. an impromptu plan. woke up feeling unwell. puked 3 times in the morning. nevertheless, still went ahead to genting. went on rollercoasters. came back that night with a fever. it was still fun. although it was kinda short.

probably my only trip this holiday, but it's okay! europe, here i come! =)

and today, christmas eve. i went for a movie with my sister and cousins. on the way back, while driving, i scratched someone's car while cutting into another lane. :( my first car 'accident'. i still think that it wasn't really my fault, she came out of nowhere. blergh. the driver was a middle eastern girl, with her mother at the passenger seat. they got so mad, and stopped me in the middle of the road with heavy traffic. first thing she yelled at me, 'DO YOU HAVE A LICENSCE!' the next thing was, 'YOU! A P-PLATE DRIVER.. WHY ARE YOU DRIVING SUCH A BIG CAR??!!' (i was driving my mum's 7-seater car btw). 'WHY DIDN'T U SIGNAL??!!!'

first of all, obviously i do have a license. i signalled. and i'm not a P-plate driver. the P-plate belongs to my younger sister. and wat's wrong with people with P-plate driving a big car? that 2 were totally irrational. they demanded for RM200. then she asked for my house address and my phone number so that she can send the bills to my house. and made a big fuss. she claims that her daughter was a student (like i'm not), it wasn't their car, they were catching a flight back to dubai that day and 'if we're a gentleman, i wouldn't mind all these cause it's a small matter. but my daughter is a student u know.' (i was like, 'huh???')

and there they were, 2 women screaming at me and my younger sister in the middle of the road. in the end, i called my mother. and tell u, mum's the best. she said, 'just drive off! or call your dad..' then when i passed the phone to the driver, my mum told her, 'if u think that my daugther is at fault, just make a police report.' that driver got even madder.. she said my mum accused her of being the one at fault. i apologized and admitted that it was my fault. she just droved off angrily.

obviously i got chided when i got home. and my brother said, 'no way u're gonna drive my car..' so there it goes. don't think i'll be able to drive much for the next few weeks that i'm home. :(

now that the month is coming to an end, so is the year. i hope it will mark an end to all these unhappy things. things will get better in time, i hope. hope everyone is enjoying their break! merry christmas and a happy new year! =)

on a side note, i'm kinda satisfied with my grades. although some were below my expectations. but heck, i got an A- for process design and safety! hahahha. if i can't model or understand the principles of separation, at least i can assure that the design of my plant and the safety is good! :P it must've been the project! hehe..

and december has always been a great time catching up with friends and family.. =) there're good things in the midst of those unfortunate events.. ♥
'cavewomen', and so we were called (for being the oldest batch in the blk and the most anti-social ones), my greatest bunch of buddies in hall for the past 2.5 yrs. great times with them as neighbours, supper buddies, toilet buddies, gossip buddies, not-so-much of study buddies, and mambo buddies. love them loads. gave christmas pressies and farewell pressies before my last paper..

my cute little ballerina cousin who was so excited to show me the things she learnt in ballet classes..

christmas party at my aunt's place. a family gathering, and i always meet new family members during family gatherings. my baby nephew, jj!

meet-up with high school classmates, and birthday celebration for the twins. (the cake went through some ride in suetlee's car, look at the snowman. it was obviously non-intentional, nevertheless quite cute.)

meet up with the 'bros'. my best group of friends in spore.. =) last meet-up at midvalley before tianglim flies off to silicon valley. next one will be in a year's time!

christmas trees, candid shots, the edifier, and the coffee lover..

oh, and i almost forgot this.. the feast on our last day of exams.. =)
