yet another s41 gathering at shar's place. it's becoming a yearly gathering.. and now i have 3 years of pictures to post! haha. shall not compare who has aged the most. now that everyone is uni, uni is the conversation topic. no more army talk. haha. we have the lawyer, the architect, the businessmen, businesswomen, accountants, model (who didn't turn up.. but, i must still laugh abt this. hahahaha! s41 model!), designers, engineers (super small population.. considering s41 was a physics class..) etc. oh yah, we have the ntu hall king too! our dear bob dog. haha. it was a great gathering despite the fact that it's all the way at the east. and i'm the only person who stays in the west.

it's been a long week. with proj meetings, tests, hysys. glad that the week is over. it's been quite a fruitful week. at least i am more familiar with hysys. i created my own fine piece of 'art'! haha. this is just for one of the tutorial questions. even more proud of the one that i did with my grp mates for our proj. we manage to get 99.1% purity and 99.84% recovery at the NH3 outlet stream. (i guess only chem engin students will understand why i'm so happy abt it.. cause it's been a painful process to create the hysys simulation..)

the next few weeks gonna be even crazier.

week 11: german oral test, lab report due
week 12: separation test, german vocab test, separation proj deadline
week 13: lab presentation, hysys proj deadline, separation proj presentation, german sem test
week 14, 15: exam week!

somewhere in between, there'll be 2 assignments for stats and those normal weekly tutorials to do.

i need more energy boosters & study buddies. i've still been studying alone most of the time. one of my loneliest sem in NUS. having a timetable which is completely different from your close friends only makes things worse. i will still pull through! the sem is coming to an end soon!

tentative plan is to leave for switzerland after cny. probably 29th or 30th jan. but nothing is settled. visa, insurance, accommodation, air ticket etc. i have loads to do!

it's been a long time since i last blogged abt the pigs and the sheepig! don't you just miss them. they're so cute! haha. from left: porks, ham, pippo and mow!

they are no odinary soft toys. they're soft toys who travelled to more places than me. porks went to tour europe with munyin while she was on exchange to swiss, while ham and mow were touring the states with pek while their brother was in europe. pippo was too small to go anywhere in case he gets misplaced. so he was with huilian and then back to malaysia when the rest were on their holidays. but all of them are back in singapore now! =) *hugs*

and so buaya week has come and go. and it would probably be my last buaya week (unless i get a place in hall next year!). for those who don't know, buaya week is a sheares hall tradition. something like a big scale angel-mortal game, where we are supposed to be nice to someone anonymously. and identities will only be revealed one week later.

i was supposed to 'buaya' terrence. this new guy in the blk who stays at level 1. i am guilty for giving this guy a bad experience for his first buaya week. i was one of the senior who didn't do much for buaya week. was so occipied with two design project meetings and assignment, coming back after 8pm almost every other night. besides, i was singing door to door for acapella song dedications for 2 nights. didn;t have the time and mood to be buaya-ing a person. it's no wonder that i am still single. cause i can't even be nice to someone for a week.

the few little things that I did this buaya week. decorating my buayee's door and table with some pot pourri and making him a cd with nice love songs..

plus a lot of food! haha. made cupcakes, bruchetta and brownies with ice cream! glad that they all turned out well. hehe. at least i had fun making them!

and my buayee is so nice that he made a poster for me that he hung outside the lift. made me even more stressed up. i didn't even do any poster :( and he made me a cd with love songs too! and reciprocated with a lot of sweets and chocolates (impt things that i need for proj meetings!)

now to my interesting buaya.. haha. this is a classic story. buaya week started last thurs night. my buaya already pasted things on my door on the night itself. the next day, i bought supper for both my buaya and buayee. i asked random ppl to pass it to my buaya. since i didn't know who was it. on sat morning, i had a note on my door which says, 'thanks for the supper, zhen lin'. HAHA. he revealed his identity on the 3rd day. how lousy. hahah. when i came back that night, the note changed to, 'sorry, i pasted the note on the wrong door. thought you were my buaya.' although many ppl tried to cover up, (read the buaya week pledge here), somehow it was just rather obvious.

nevertheless, my blur buaya was still the best compared to previous years. a lot of effort being put into decorating my door and a cute little brownie in a shape of a bear and with my initials YC on it.

my buaya made posters (which i didn't see till i saw it on blkcdiary, opps..) and left breakfast with a heart-shaped box fille with small little folded hearts, candles and sweets. really sweet of him. he even made a buaya week diary as revelation gift. THANKS LOADS BUAYA! =) oh, and the tag on my tagboard was him too. not anyone special. so not to worry gf! haha.

and roses from buaya and floorball team manager! =)

and summary of my buaya week experience for the past 3yrs. effort to buaya other ppl deteriorated, but somehow, effort by buaya was of the opposite trend. oops.

i know i haven't been updating for a long long time. it's the busy time of the sem now. was home on mid term break although it was only 3 days. had 2 midterm tests the week after that. and now, working on 2 design projects. forsee a lot of staying back in sch, and booking of discussion rooms, pgp meeting rooms etc for the next whole month. but i'm still glad! cause at least i'm catching up with work. i need a study buddy. cause i've practically been studying alone in biz lib, arts canteen, central lib for the past 6 weeks. not to mention, not having ppl to lunch with almost the whole sem cause i'm the only one with a diff timetable from the other chem engineers. it gets rather depressing. and i feel super anti-social most of the time.

but last weekend, i had some 'life'! haha. met up with lita for lunch and the other chem engin proj group mates at night to celebrate foongyi's bday. we were at clarke quay for dinner at central mall. then went over to pump room. love the music there. there was a live band playing! the lead was good! after that, daniel asked, 'where else in singapore can we go at this kinda time?'. i dunno why but i just said, 'EAST COAST PARK!'. and we really went to east coast! wheee! yep, so we were strolling at ecp at 1am, went to the food court to order coconut drink and had some food! and you only get to do this kinda thing when u know that your friends drive. haha. don't even need to think of the super expensive cab fare. just go!

cindy, lita and me

thai food for lunch plus lita's present. nice note book made by jeffrey with some pictures of all of us attached at random pages.

dinner at pasta de warake, central mall

chem engineers: daniel, cindy, foongyi, me, flora, szechao..
we hope to see the light for our design proj.. haha.

a birthday song dedication at pump room for the birthday girl..

supper at east coast! =)
