it's 3.40am and i'm up blogging..

reason being, i can't sleep..

blerghh.. it happened last week too. but last week i finally slept after watching half an hour of mark saey's lecture online. i dun think i wanna do that again, although it would probably put me to sleep again.. cause i'll be attending his lecture in 4 hrs time, if i am still awake by then, or if i manage to wake up in time (assuming that i'll have at least 2 hrs of nap).. haha..

nevermind.. i shall put up more pictures here.. hahah..

level 7 girls during our late night gossip session! hahah..

mentors at haven home.. whee.. mentoring starts on saturday.. i cant wait to see the kids again. but i won't get back my same mentee this time round. i'll have matthew instead! hope that naughty boy won't make me lose all my hair towards the end of the year. i believe i can manage him. oh well, if i can manage my naughty little brother, i'm sure i can handle matthew! =)

kongjien's bday celebration. somehow, the east coast clan, is left with only one girl. poor kj.. was covered with whipped cream + bbq sauce then dunked into the pond. hahah!

blk c night out for supper with 3 lorries and 6 cars! haha.. it wasn't intentional, but lvl 7 girls were in black while lvl 3 girls in orange.. then the few non-orange/black belongs to lvl 5! haha..

it was a successful event! hahaha. 70 ppl turned up eh! that's abt 70% of the block! proud to claim that it's my first event as a fellow blk comm member.

all the happy faces before we start out lorry supper adventure!

our driver for the night! remy!! =)

oh, and that's dominique. a canadian exchange student who's new to the block. i'm tall. just that dom is taller!

had chicken wing and satay at bedok 85! yum yum! didn't managed to try to famous bak chor mee there. will try it some other time!

then went to upper thompson road for prata!

table picture!

we were so bored. then we played chai quan..

losers were supposed to drink the curry.. hahaha.. poor bobo!

that's val! hahha.. she's so entertaining.. her conversation with bobo entertained us the whole night.. hahaha..

after prata, we sent some ppl back to hall. and guess wat?!! one of the lorry broke down in front of pgp! sighh.. after dropping some ppl in hall, we set off with the other lorry left and lenny's car.

went to geylang for the famous bean curd + soya bean + you tiao + mee suah...

hahahah.. an example of an unglam picture.. but it was really super shiok to be behind the lorry. hahaha. we were practically singing, cheering and playing games! hahaha..

after geylang, the few of us went to east coast to watch sunrise! hahha.. was playing charades while waiting for the sun to rise.. hahha..

sadly, it was too clowdy.. didnt manage to see any sunrise.. but it was worth the wait. and i haven't been to ecp for sooooo long..

the next day after lorry supper was the farewell bbq party for su san.. at costa sands pasir ris! practically travelled from one end of singapore to the other end. hahah. but it was worth it! =) it's always fun to hang out with the east coast clan (ECC to be short!)

and eunice came down from malaysia just for the bbq. see how much eunice loves u san! hahah..

the bunch of malaysians from vj!

and that's the guests for the night. ECC, ct council, cedar prefects, and some of su san's classmates in vj..

that's how we managed to cram 8 ppl on 2 mattresses..

and that's jungseong's bday celebration. by default, chernyih would be dunked! but there's no pond in sheares hall. so sad. haha..

and also kexi's bday.. she got 21 roses with 21 messages on the 21st bday! how sweet!

and not to forget, 21 shots of vodka too! haha.. poor girl! but i'm sure u enjoyed your bday right girl? =)

i manage to spend 1.5 hrs for this post while chatting with zee online. i found one major use of msn. to chat with ppl who're half the globe away when u can't sleep. hahahah.. guess i'll spend the rest of the night online! actually, there's not much 'night' left.. hahaha.. it's alr 5am! dun think i'll be attending the 8am lec alr! hahaha.. there goes my resolution for this sem..

At this hectic time of the year, here's a very useful piece of advice to put all things into perspective.

When things in your life seem almost too much to handle, when 24 hours in a
day are not enough, remember the mayonnaise jar... and the coffee...

A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front
of him. When the class began, wordlessly, he picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls. He then asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed that it was.

The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar.
He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open areas between the golf balls. He then asked the students again if the jar was full. They agreed it was.

The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of
course, the sand filled up everything else. He asked once more if the jar was full. The students responded with an infamous "yes."

The professor then produced two cups of coffee from under the table and
poured the entire contents into the jar, effectively filling the empty space between sand. The students laughed.

Now, said the professor, as the laughter subsided, I want you to recognize
that this jar represents your life. The golf balls are the important things. Your family, your children, your faith, your health, your friends and your favorite passions. Things, that if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full.

The pebbles are the other things that matter. Your job, your house and
your car. The sand is everything else. The small stuff. "If you put the sand into the jar first," he continued, "there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls. The same goes for life. If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff, you will never have room for the things that are important to you. Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness. Play with your children. Take time to get medical checkups. Take your partner out to dinner. Play another 18. There will always be time to clean the house and fix the disposal. Take care of the golf balls first, the things that really matter. Set your priorities. The rest is just sand."

One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the coffee
represented.

The professor smiled. "I'm glad you asked. It just goes to show you that no
matter how full your life may seem, there's always room for a couple of cups of coffee with a friend."

Please share this with someone nice.

I JUST DID.

Got this from a forwarded mail.. thought it's rather meaningful.. =)

2nd sem would be more hectic for me.. decided to take 6 modules.. i hope i will be able to juggle well with 6 modules.. timetable is quite crazy.. i have 3 full days of lessons.. mon, tue and thurs i'll have lessons fr 8 to 6.. with 1 or 2 hrs of break in btwn.. wed and fri would be half day.. which will end by 12 i hope.. this really leaves no time for afternoon naps.. hahaha..

and i'll have another extra commitment in hall.. agreed to be in the blk committee.. to take over yeehaun.. it'll be rather busy.. but i think it would be nice to work with the rest in the committee: darius, candy, joyce, lenny, kane, liz, remy and le hia.. and there'll be few concerts this sem.. which means there'll be more choir and ge yao practice.. haha.. first up would be CMB concert in first week of feb, then there'll be a combined concert with the rest of the choir and acapella grps in other halls and i think there'll be a concert with kentridge's choir. how exciting.. hahah.. eunice, esther, shili and reren shld be in kr's choir.. hahaha.. oh, and sheares production is in march!

as for the haven mentoring programme, me and christopher taking over xingqi to plan for the programme for the rest of the year.. so it'll be another thing to be busy with.. but i am more than willing to help in this mentoring programme because it was one of the most meaningful thing that i had done in 2006.. the saturday mornings spent at haven home taught me a lot of things. and the 'thank you' video clip for the volunteers during the christmas party in haven home really touched my heart. the group of mentors really hope that we can make a difference in the children's life. we want to be there to help them and to be their friend. it is most rewarding to see smiles on the children's faces whenever we're there..

with all these things going on at the same time.. i'll be kinda occupied 7 days a week.. i just hope that i have the discipline to do my tutorials consistently so that i won't die when exams come.. and i really need the help of ppl ard me to motivate me to study.. and i think i will have to forgo time for msn and blogging to do my tutorials.. haha.. so, do forsee less posts in future. heh. =)
